The last Night Of The Year took place Saturday 20th June 2009. The venue was

The Anchor Inn, Clowne, North East Derbyshire.

The event raised over £2500 for

  • Sheffield Children’s Hospital
  • Cancer Research UK


















Entertainment with a twist!
Eight singers entertained packed audience and competed against each other, for a winner’s prize of £200.

In the same way that a marathon runner acquires sponsorship to support their run, each singer was required to secure a minimum of £75 in sponsorship.

All sponsorship money went to Sheffield Childrens Hosptial & Cancer Research UK. The format of the evening was similar to popular television talent shows.

A panel of judges scored the contestants performance. The audience was also be allowed to vote.  A combination of the judge and audience votes decided that Katie Benbow (pictured right) was the winner.
